Firecrackers!

 We hit the road again and headed to Cumberland, WI to spend the 4th of July weekend on Little Sand Lake. The weather was PERFECT. We extended our stay by an extra day because 4 straight days of sun and no rain rarely happens! Here's a little of what we were up to: 

We decided to head to the main beach on day one. Oliver seemed to enjoy the sand and sun.
Disclaimer: Oliver's rashguard swimsuit was not purchased just for the 4th of July. It was the only Mini-Boden pattern sold. We are pretty sure that in 20 years it will show up on a website titled "Awful Things My Parents Made Me Wear When I Was A Kid". We also called him Evil Knievel all weekend.

Stella, not so much.

We unfortunately realized about 20 minutes after we arrived that her unhappiness was caused by the fact that she had an allergic reaction to the sunscreen. A dose of Benadryl later and all was good!

And they found out how fun mealtimes are outside......no worries about a mess!

The nights were equally as beautiful as the days. Well, minus the mosquitoes.

My sister in law, Elizabeth, and I took advantage of one of these beautiful evenings and swam across the lake. Since it is about a mile across and it would be difficult to spot us in the water, we had the boat chug along next to us. Anna & Lydia were our coaches - though they did say after it was a boring ride.......we must have been too slow! 

And it wouldn't be the 4th of July without fireworks. The guys took advantage of clearance sales last year and stocked up for this year. This is what $70 (originally $350) will get you for your own private fireworks display!

We look forward to celebrating many more 4th of July holidays as a family!
