{ red, white & blue }

We loaded up and headed to the Lodge to celebrate the 4th of July. When we arrived in Cumberland we went straight to the Fireman's Pancake Breakfast.
Pancakes were just the side show. Can you guess what the real attraction was? Yup, firetrucks.

This little guy was in his element.

It was HOT. Thankfully this helped a little.
Just to prove how how it was......if you take a close look, the readout in the middle left on my bike speedometer reads 106. And it felt every bit of 106 out on the road biking.

The temperatures were great if you were IN the water so we spent a lot of time there.
It was fun to see Oliver & Stella actually enjoy the boat and water. Actually, I should clarify that......Oliver enjoyed being in the water, while Stella was perfectly happy observing (always with a drink in hand).
The highlight was Oliver being brave enough to jump into the water. It started as us lifting and lowering him into the water from the boat or dock, then moved to holding an arm, and then to him just wanting to jump from the edge himself. He did it over and over and over everyday we were there!

Here is a little video of him in action.
They also got really good at helping others to jump into the water.

And always willing to help drive the boat.

Their red cheeks and blue eyes even fit the holiday's color scheme. Happy 4th of July!
