A few weeks ago we participated in the Children's HeartBeat 5000 race, which benefits the cardiac care program at Children's. It is a special event since our niece/cousin Anna was a heart patient when she was just 4 months old. Because of the care she received as an infant she is now a beautiful, loving and fun 8 year old! We appropriately carry the team name "We Heart Anna" for the race each year.
There is a Kid's Fun Run prior to the 5k Run/Walk. The "big" kids go first......there isn't much that needs to be said about the following photos. Sisterly love at its best.
Oliver and Stella then participated in their first official run. Lets just say that they don't exactly understand the concept yet. We'll work on it and be ready for next year! 
The kids all then got comfy for the 5k run/walk. Though as you will notice from the pictures they didn't quite stay put for the entire ride.
Even with a few stops along the way......
Everyone made it to the end and enjoyed a post race snack. And though there was the standard bananas and oranges, this race pulled out all the stops with ice cream sandwiches. Score!
