Double Digits

Oliver & Stella are 10 months today (which Chop, the finance guy, so kindly pointed out is 5/6th of a year). I say it every month but seriously, where has the time gone?! In honor of their 10 month birthday, here is our list of "Top 10 ways our lives have changed since O & S were born":

10. There is no longer any usable space in our car, other than the driver and passenger seat. Any space we had before has been replaced by car seats and strollers. And this is with a vehicle that is almost double the size as the one we had before them!
9. It's a well known fact that babies love to go through the kitchen cabinets. Our house is no exception to this. The kitchen cabinets are no longer ours, they belong to O & S.
8. No more need to fight over the remote! Not that it was ever really a question that I got to have it anyways, but now Chop doesn't either. It seems to be a favorite of O & S so when it has disappeared, it can often be found in their hands or scattered in with their toys. And thank goodness for DVR or we would have no need for a TV anyways.
7. We used to spend time throwing a tennis ball for Maizy. Now we just throw babies for fun. Or maybe toss is a better word for it. Either way, they seem to enjoy it. Word of caution: when visiting at another house, just make sure their ceilings are as high as the one in your own home. Ask Chop, he and Stella learned the hard way (no pun intended)!
6. When we speak of bottles and chugging, it no longer refers to Chop’s ability to put away beer!
5. Sleeping in on a good day no longer means 9:30am. It means 5:30am. No, not kidding. I wish I was saying 7:00am but the reality is that Oliver gets up some time between 4:45-5:15am everyday. And yes, we've tried every method of fixing this (later bedtime, leaving him, etc.) and nothing seems to fix the fact that he gets up at this unruly time in the morning. Or should I say middle of the night since that is what it feels like?! And no photo for this one.....way too early to be taking pictures!

4. Cleaning and picking up has taken on a whole new meaning. It was a good week if I swept the dining room floor once, now it is a three time a day occurrence after every meal that O & S eat. And this is nothing compared to the living room mess of toys that gets picked up several times a day.
3. I love shoes. But instead of shoe shopping for cute shoes for myself, I now get to look for cute baby shoes. Fun? Absolutely. But my shoe closet has dramatically decreased in style!
2. Getting together with friends now means "getting together with friends, with their kids and our kids, and between nap times and/or before 7:00pm bedtime". For example, our friend's Mike and Marhya came over yesterday for "appetizers/dinner" at 4:00 and headed home at 6:15. Unfortunately, despite Eli's best attempts, I was less than successful at getting a picture of Oliver and Stella with Eli and Thad where all of them were looking at the camera!
1. And of course number one has to be sentimental…….we now not only have each other, we have two little babies to spend the rest of our lives with!
